Un-Finished Business teams with A&R Select
Los Angeles, CA – Rock act UFB has announced a team-up with A&R Select, the world’s leading independent artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA. UFB has been snagging a hefty amount of attention with its album “The Fall and Rise of Rock & Roll.” The songs boast an eclectic array of musical influences, meshed smoothly and charged with electricity. The band incorporates classic rock, modern rock, punk, country, Irish rock and “a lot of craziness and energy,” according to UFB. The song “Drive Me Away” highlights the kind of musical chemistry afoot in UFB’s songwriting and performances. The tune brings in a horn section that provides organic roundness to the brilliantly streamlined cornucopia of song elements, providing an energetic, unflagging thrust of rock energy, tinged with Eastern exotica and dashes of country rock subtleties. “This song makes some interesting changes – twists and turns in direction – which we believe makes the song more inviting to listen to over and over,” says UFB’s Jack McKinley. “It also has a more modern rock feel that represents the level of energy we like to convey in our songwriting. And, interesting harmonies.” Originally, UFB was dubbed Un-Finished Business, but the name was later shortened. In 2002, a light bulb went on for a pair of Irish-American brothers – Jack (vocals, guitar) and Aaron McKinley (drums and percussion) – both of whom “shared a common passion to write and perform original rock & roll,” according to Jack. 2003 saw the addition of Scott Hardy on bass and Gordon McMillan on flute. Both Hardy and McMillan later left the band. “UFB now uses various session musicians as needed and have players available for live shows,” Jack explains. Over the years, UFB’s sound has grown from a poppier flavor to a heavier, rock sound that finds the group shifting the blend of modern and classic rock more in favor of contemporary styles. Prior to “The Fall and Rise of Rock & Roll,” UFB released the “Three Songs, Three Bucks” EP, available only at UFB shows. And as for shows, Jack is quick to say that “if you like high-energy rock & roll, we can guarantee a successful gig at every venue we play.” He guarantees zero disappointment and total entertainment. “We believe in ourselves and our music.” UFB has staked its reputation on being unafraid to experiment, on having the courage to be different, even in terms of image. “We have established our look as a blend of ‘neon old-school gangster chic,” says Jack. Making music is the foremost driving passion of the McKinley brothers. “Being goal-driven, we are striving to be established, full-time musical artists making a living by doing what we love,” Jack expounds. “To be recognized as national artists with international music distribution is our ultimate goal.” More information is available by visiting www.ufbmusic.com, www.promofm.com/ufb, www.myspace.com/ufb2 and www.arselect.com. |
